Any decent chef will tell you that med-rare is the best temperature to cook a steak. It lets you get a more natural taste along with reducing the risk of any food poisoning. The tricky part is with fillets or tenderloin cuts. You should always order one temperature level above what you'd usually get.
Attn. Fluff: Having the steak marinate in coke lets the meat to soak it up and it gets a kind of sugary/syrupy sauce, without it actually being saucy. I wouldn't recommend it personally since the few times I've tried it, it hasn't turned out that great. |
